I am currently in my first year at The Nottingham Trent University studying Combined Sciences – Sport and exercises science and Computing for sciences. I have a very strong interest in both sport and computers. Hopefully I will go into a career involving aspects related both to sport and technology.

I have previously taken part in three work experience placements, one with British Waterways helping with restoration work on the Chesterfield Canal and one with the Worksop Police Force and at Langold Country park working with the park rangers, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I got a good view of what working as part of a team and working with the public was like in a career. I have also gained the Community Sports Leaders Award and National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications, volley ball and basketball coaching awards which will hopefully lead to me gaining more experience in the sporting industry.

My interests and hobbies are sports and computer related. I used to be a member of Worksop Harriers Athletics Club and Worksop Rugby Union Football Club. I have competed in various competitions since Junior School, where I won the boys Superstar sporting competition in my final year. I have also competed at county level and for school at athletics. I have taken part in various sporting charity events to raise funds for diffrernt organisations. I have also had experience judgeing and coaching at Worksop Harriers Athletics Club and at Scout events. When Im not at the gym I enjoy designing web sites and the internet, I have built PCs for myself and friends. I am currently learning how to program in the C and C ++ language aswell as javascript. I also enjoy music and remixing on the PC.

I have a variety of sport related skills. The sport I enjoy and compete in most is athletics. I took part in Pentathlons and Octathlons for the Notts Schools Combined-Events Team and Notts county. Which has involved me in travelling to various parts of the country to take part in these events, which I find to be a good experience in lots of

aspects, not all sport related such as socialising and getting to know different people from other areas of the country. Also I have taken part in competitions for the Mc. Donalds Young Athletes League. I have gained a number of certificates, medals and trophies from my sporting career, including football, swimming and cross county trophies. I have a part time job working at Bondhay Golf and Fishing club working behind the bar and in the restaurant. At the moment I am looking for a part time job in Nottingham – preferably lifeguarding or something sport related. I love to travel and go abroad almost every year.

Overall I feel that I have allot to gain from the degree I am doing at the Nottingham Trent University. Therefore I would enjoy and succeed on a degree in this subject. Which will hopefully help me to gain a career related to sport and computers in

the future.
